NVA selected as a new charity.

As Dutchbricks, we also want to do something for society. Every year we choose a charity that we will support for one long year.

From 01-09-2022 to 31-08-2023 this is the Dutch Association for Autism.

In the Netherlands, approximately 200,000 people have autism. Due to their different stimulus processing, all sounds, images and smells come to them unfiltered. A visit to a shopping center or city can therefore be quite exhausting for people with autism.

The Autism Fund organizes special days in an amusement park, museum or other attraction. These 'Auti-Do-Days' are completely aimed at people with autism, both children and adults. In many cases, the parks and museums are exclusively open during Auti-Doe-Days, so that it doesn't get too busy and people with autism can be 'among each other' for a day.

"It's great that we can just be ourselves on such a day," visitors say. “No one is surprised if you wear headphones and sunglasses. Or if you are looking for a buddy who wants to join you on the roller coaster. For us, such an Auti-Doe-Day is the only possibility to go out for a day!”

Many new low-stimulus days out are planned in 2022 and 2023, thanks to the Autism Fund.

What does the Autism Fund do?

The AutismeFonds is committed to people with autism and their loved ones. The fund does this by supporting NVA projects that promote the participation of people with autism in society. For example, the NVA Autism Week, the Autipas, the Auti-Doe-Dagen and the NVA Forum are made possible in part thanks to contributions from the Autism Fund. www.autismefonds.nl www.autisme.nl
